1. Current Status

Kodiak Connect is in active beta. Some features described on the website, including Family Accounts, child account management, Business Accounts, paid workspaces, meetings, and advanced admin controls, are planned future features and may not be available yet.

2. Information We May Collect

Depending on which features are available and how you use Kodiak Connect, we may collect:

  • Account information, such as username, email address, password authentication data, display name, avatar, and profile details.
  • Communication information, such as messages, rooms, channels, files, attachments, media, and related metadata needed to provide the service.
  • Support information, such as emails or messages you send to support.
  • Device and technical information, such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, app version, logs, crash reports, and security-related events.
  • Beta feedback, bug reports, and feature requests.
  • Future family account information, if and when Family Accounts become available, such as parent or guardian account links, child account settings, safety preferences, and approval records.
  • Future business workspace information, if and when Business Accounts become available, such as workspace names, role permissions, admin settings, and workspace membership.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Create and manage accounts.
  • Provide messaging, rooms, media sharing, profiles, and app access.
  • Protect account security and prevent abuse.
  • Respond to support requests.
  • Improve stability, usability, and beta testing.
  • Enforce the Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, and safety rules.
  • Develop planned features such as Family Accounts and Business Workspaces.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Messages, Media, and User Content

Kodiak Connect is a communication service. Messages, files, images, videos, audio, profile information, and other user content may be stored and processed so the service can function.

Users should not upload or share content they do not have the right to share. Users should not share highly sensitive information unless they understand the risks of online communication.

5. Cookies, Local Storage, and Similar Technologies

The public marketing website is designed as a static website and is not intended to use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

The Kodiak Connect app may use local storage, session storage, cookies, tokens, or similar browser and app technologies to keep users signed in, remember settings, support security, and provide app functionality.

We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies on the marketing website.

6. Analytics and Advertising

Kodiak Connect does not currently run ads on the public website and does not currently sell personal information for advertising.

If analytics, advertising, payment processing, or additional third-party tools are added later, this Privacy Policy should be updated before or at the time those tools go live.

7. Sharing Information

We may share information:

  • With service providers that help operate the app, hosting, email, storage, security, updates, support, and related services.
  • With workspace administrators for future Business Workspaces, where applicable.
  • With parent or guardian accounts for future Family Accounts, where applicable.
  • To comply with law, legal process, or enforceable government requests.
  • To protect users, Kodiak Connect, or the public from abuse, fraud, security threats, or illegal activity.
  • In connection with a future merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or transfer of the service.

We do not sell personal information.

8. Children and Family Accounts

Family Accounts and child account controls are planned future features and are not currently live.

Until proper parent or guardian consent and child-account controls are implemented, children under 13 should not create independent Kodiak Connect accounts. When child account features become available, parents or guardians should create or approve child accounts and manage the child’s settings through the family tools.

Parents or guardians may contact support@kodiak-connect.com to request help with a child-related privacy concern.

9. Data Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide Kodiak Connect, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Some deleted information may remain for a limited time in backups, logs, moderation records, security records, or where retention is legally required.

10. Account Deletion and Privacy Requests

Users may contact support@kodiak-connect.com to request account deletion, access, correction, or other privacy assistance.

We may need to verify the request before acting on it. Some information may be retained where needed for security, legal compliance, abuse prevention, dispute resolution, or backups.

11. Security

Kodiak Connect uses reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee perfect security.

Users are responsible for protecting their account credentials and reporting suspected unauthorized access.

12. State, U.S., and International Privacy Rights

Some users may have privacy rights depending on where they live, such as rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain information about certain personal information. Kodiak Connect will make reasonable efforts to honor valid privacy requests, even where a specific law may not yet apply to the service.

13. Data Breach Notice

If Kodiak Connect determines that a security incident legally requires notice, we will provide notice as required by applicable law.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Kodiak Connect changes. Updates will be posted on the website with a new effective date.
